New Director Search at Norway’s Education Quality Agency

Kristin Vinje seeks another six‑year term as Nokut director – She is the incumbent and one of the candidates for the position opening on 1 September 2026 after the role was advertised for a new six‑year period. [1]

Vinje confirmed on 19 January she will run for re‑appointment – In a statement dated 19 January, Vinje said she intends to apply for a new term, describing the role as “very meaningful” and expressing her desire to continue. [2]

Vinje has led Nokut since 2020 after serving as dean at Høyskolen Kristiania – She moved to the national quality agency from the dean’s office at the private university in 2020. [1]

Application deadline was 17 February, attracting 13 candidates – By that date 13 individuals submitted applications; three women later withdrew, leaving ten contenders. [1]

Among the remaining contenders is Trine Johansen Meza, rector of Høyskolen Kristiania – Meza, a professor of biomedicine and health science, has been rector since 1 August 2022, previously pro‑rector for research and artistic development, and serves as deputy leader of the Universities and Colleges Council. Other notable applicant is Petar Vujacic, advisor at University of Innlandet’s teacher‑education programme – No further candidates from the university‑college sector are listed among the ten remaining. [1]
